School Records Fall @ Drake Relays For NSU

Des Moines, Iowa (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University track and field teams opened the Drake Relays on Thursday and Friday with a bang. The Wolves tallied two school records, one event victory, and eight top-15 finishes.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
  • Jonathan Burkhalter took to the track first for NSU, crushing the school record in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:08.18; he landed in the top-25 of the field filled with Division I opponents
  • The 4x100m relay team of Drew Salfrank, Chris Weber, Peyton Mausbach, and Ty Kadlec rounded out the top-15 with a time of 42.04
  • Jayden Munroe won the triple jump with a provisional mark of 15.01m on his fourth attempt of the day, as the lone competitor to clear the 15-meter threshold; his mark ranks in the top-25 nationally in the event
  • Jeff Boschee landed in the top-15 of the high jump, clearing 1.98m
  • Chris Weber raced to a top-20 finish in the 100m with a time of 10.65
  • The 4x400m team of Salfrank, Geoffrey Mannino, Drew Henriksen, and Joel Matehs rounded out the top-20 of the field with a time of 3:18.44
  • Salfrank rounded out the top-20 of the 400m with a time of 49.07
  • The sprint medley relay team of Mausbach, Mannino, Carter Dingman, and Lincoln Woodring rounded out the top-15 of the event with a time of 3:37.62
  • The 4x200m team of Weber, Mannino, Mausbach, and Kadlec took tenth, crossing the finish line in 1:28.10
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
  • The 4x100m relay team of Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir, Renea Taylor, Anna Skachenko, and Kyanna Collymore took 12th with a time of 47.83
  • Taylor raced to a 100m hurdles time of 14.77 and 400m hurdles time of 1:02.86
  • Bekah Walz tallied a pole vault mark of 3.67m, finishing in the top-15 of the event
  • The 4x400m relay team of Collymore, Jonsdottir, Alli Jackson, and Skachenko took 14th with a time of 3:54.68
  • The sprint medley relay team of Collymore, Emma Hunt, Jackson, and Summer Carlson took third with a school record time of 4:07.64
  • The 4x200m team of Collymore, Hunt, Jonsdottir, and Skachenko closed out the day for NSU with a time of 1:43.98

Des Moines, Iowa (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University track and field teams closed out the Drake Relays on Saturday, competing in eight events. Northern recorded three school records and seven top-10 finishes, including a pair of event victories. In total from Iowa, the Wolves tallied five school records, three event victory, and 18 top-15 finishes.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
  • The distance medley relay team of David VanVeen, Drew Henriksen, Lincoln Woodring, and Jonathan Burkhalter rounded out the top-10 with a school record breaking time of 10:11.78
  • Jayden Munroe went 2-for-2 at Drake, winning the long jump with a 7.39m school record mark on his second attempt of the day
  • Sam Tremelling took second in the pole vault with an outdoor personal record of 5.02m; the mark ranks 15th nationally in the event
  • Eli Radtke rounded out the top-5 of the pole vault with a 4.87m provisional mark
  • The shuttle hurdle relay team of Joel Matehs, Luke Campbell, Greyson Schuetzle, and Radtke finished in a time of 1:09.46
  • The Wolves one-two javelin punch were back at it again with Carson Barnett winning the event with a 63.55m toss, followed by Levi Reis in second throwing 63.48m
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
  • The distance medley relay team of Summer Carlson, Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir, Alli Jackson, and Emaleigh Olesiak took seventh with a time of 12:23.39, breaking the Northern State school record
  • Macoya Hansen took 11th in the javelin, throwing 38.07m
