AVON, S.D.(WNAX)- School boards across the state are working on budgets for the next school year and adding in the six percent increase in state aid.
Avon School District Superintendent Tom Culver says most of the increase will go to teachers and staff.
Culver says the school board’s priority is taking care of their staff.
For the past two years, all meal costs have been covered by extra federal funding related to the pandemic. That will go away this summer and Culver says they are notifying their parents.
Culver says they are using other onetime federal funds for upgrades to their building and grounds.
