AVON, S.D. (WNAX) – Schools across South Dakota are working with parents and students to continue their learning at a distance.
Governor Kristi Noem has asked schools to keep their buildings closed through May first.
Avon School Superintendent Tom Culver says they sent a survey home with the first week’s homework packet.
Culver says they also don’t want to put extra costs on families that may be worried about their finances.
Culver says it’s difficult to work as a team to put together the best lessons for their students.
Culver says they still hope to hold a graduation ceremony for their 19 seniors sometime in May.
