PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state added 5 more COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalization continued to drop, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The deaths moved the state’s overall death toll to 1,768. The state had 165 new confirmed cases and 232 recoveries, lowering active infections by 77 to 3,060. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus dropped to 161.
So far, South Dakota has had 107,955 confirmed cases and 103,127 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 16 new cases and 14 recoveries. The county currently has 165 active cases. Overall, the county has had 4,915 confirmed cases and 4,671 recoveries. There remains 79 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 26,895 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,310, and Lincoln County with 7,422. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,726, Brookings with 3,404, Davison with 2,888, Lawrence with 2,744, and Yankton with 2,727.
