PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state added 11 more COVID-related deaths, active cases stayed nearly the same and hospitalizations decreased, according to numbers released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The deaths increased the state’s overall death toll to 1,684. The state had 319 new confirmed cases and 304 recoveries, increasing the amount of active infections to 4,090. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus decreased by eight down to 177.
Overall, South Dakota has had 106,716 confirmed cases and 100,942 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 14 new confirmed cases and 26 recoveries, lowering active infections to 185. So far, the county has had 4,825 confirmed cases and 4,565 recoveries. There have been 75 deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 26,676 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,181, and Lincoln County with 7,328. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,705, Brookings with 3,353, Davison with 2,868, Lawrence with 2,725, and Yankton with 2,710.
