SD Board of Regents re-working the Dakota’s Promise scholarship program

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Board of Regents is setting up a work group that will reshape the “Dakota’s Promise” scholarship program for next year. The version introduced this year was killed by the legislature.

University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring is a member of the work group and says they will simplify the proposal.

Gestring says the new plan would be open to students in all colleges and universities.

Gestring also states that they are still working out the details.

The budget proposed for the scholarship program is five point seven million dollars.
