SD Board of Regents release report on duplication & efficiencies for next year’s legislature

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Several state agencies appeared before the Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota legislature Monday in Pierre.

The Board of Regents was mandated by last years “SB55” to produce a report on program duplication and efficiencies for the 2022 session.

Regents Executive Director Brian Maher says they have come up with a list from that report.

Maher says another focus is assisting in job creation.

Maher says they are also working to better focus the mission of each university.

Maher says more details will be in their budget request to the legislature.
