YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The Seventh annual South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation’s Prime Time Gala event this past weekend raised over $253,000 this year for Feeding South Dakota.  The total amount donated from the Foundation since the Gala’s start in 2014 is now over $1.7 million dollars. Feeding South Dakota CEO Matt Gassen says the donation helps them purchase beef and get it out to those who most need it.

He says the pandemic raised demand for their services at Feeding South Dakota, and the need is still out there.

Gassen says the Cattle groups, the Association and Foundation have been extremely generous over the years despite their own challenges.

Gassen says since the Prime Time Gala’s inception Feeding South Dakota has been able to purchase over 1.1 million pounds of beef.
