PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Chamber of Commerce & Industry is endorsing Amendment “D” in next months election.

President Dave Owen, says the Amendment, which would expand Medicaid coverage, is a workforce issue.

Owen says state taxpayers wouldn’t have to carry the bulk of the costs.

Owen says free enterprise and government work together in a number of existing programs.

There are estimates that expanded Medicaid would cover about forty thousand people that don’t currently have medical insurance.
