PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota Education Department Secretary Tiffany Sanderson says staff of her department has completed a review of all educational material provided to state schools.
Sanderson told the Board of Educational Standards the review was mandated by an Executive Order from Governor Kristi Noem restricting the teaching of Critical Race Theory in K – 12 schools in the state.
Sanderson says there were a few areas that may need to be updated.
A separate task force is working on updating social studies standards for state schools. Those recommendations are expected this fall.
