SD Dept of Health added 10 COVID-19 deaths, active cases & hospitalization continue to decline

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 10 new COVID-related deaths(1 in Edmunds County), while active cases and hospitalizations dropped, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death toll now at 1,798. The state had 139 new confirmed cases and 208 recoveries, lowering active infections 2,430. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus decrease to 121.

So far, South Dakota has had 108,944 confirmed cases and 104,716 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 6 new cases and 15 recoveries. The county currently has 157 active cases. Overall, the county has had 4,992 confirmed cases and 4,756 recoveries. There was a drop of 1 in Covid-related deaths to 79.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,194 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,464, and Lincoln County with 7,504. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,773, Brookings with 3,459, Davison with 2,909, Lawrence with 2,763, and Yankton with 2,751.

Statewide 80,700 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine with 35,083 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination.  Brown County has 3,576 receiving at least one shot & 1,698 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
