SD Dept of Health added 2 COVID-related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,935. The state had 159 new cases and 114 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,436. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 95.

So far, South Dakota has had 117,495 cases and 113,124 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 72 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,290 cases and 5,127 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,655 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,237, and Lincoln County with 8,202. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,202, Brookings with 3,819, Davison with 3,097, Yankton with 2,917, and Lawrence with 2,887.

Statewide 249,042 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 42% of the state) with 163,163 completing vaccination(over 27% of the state).  Brown County has 11,916 receiving at least one shot & 7,472 completing vaccination.
