SD Dept of Health added 6 COVID-19 related deaths, active cases & hospitalization decreases

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases and hospitalizations dropped, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death toll now at 1,804. The state had 188 new confirmed cases and 240 recoveries, lowering active infections 2,372. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus decrease to 115.

So far, South Dakota has had 109,132 confirmed cases and 104,956 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 16 new cases and 16 recoveries. The county currently has 157 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,008 confirmed cases and 4,772 recoveries. There remains 79 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,235 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,483, and Lincoln County with 7,516. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,784, Brookings with 3,468, Davison with 2,910, Lawrence with 2,765, and Yankton with 2,759.

Statewide 83,777 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine with 37,876 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination.  Brown County has 3,662 receiving at least one shot & 1,874 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
