SD Dept of Health reported 1 COVID-19 death, complete vaccinations above 150,000

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,928. The state had 213 new cases and 156 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,480. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 74.

So far, South Dakota has had 116,833 cases and 112,425 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 6 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 60 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,264 cases and 5,113 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,398 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,218, and Lincoln County with 8,146. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,180, Brookings with 3,761, Davison with 3,071, Yankton with 2,900, and Lawrence with 2,885.

Statewide 236,257 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 40% of the state) with 150,656 completing vaccination(over 25% of the state).  Brown County has 11,116 receiving at least one shot & 6,550 completing vaccination.
