SD Dept of Health reported 1 COVID-19 related death today

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,905. The state had 203 new cases and 183 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,131. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 67.

So far, South Dakota has had 114,163 cases and 110,127 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 69 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,186 confirmed cases and 5,028 recoveries. There’s currently 89 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,521 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,036, and Lincoln County with 7,905. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,060, Brookings with 3,636, Davison with 2,988, Lawrence with 2,838 and Yankton with 2,832.

Statewide 178,093 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 31% of the state) with 99,147 completing vaccination(over 17% of the state).  Brown County has 8,213 receiving at least one shot & 5,116 completing vaccination.
