SD Dept of Health reported 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases  decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,949. The state had 235 new cases and 296 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,328. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 113.

So far, South Dakota has had 120,613 cases and 116,336 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 13 recoveries. The county currently has 92 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,422 cases and 5,239 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,756 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,434, and Lincoln County with 8,467. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,367, Brookings with 4,064, Davison with 3,166, Yankton with 3,001, and Lawrence with 2,921.

Statewide 309,103 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 51% of the state) with 221,312 completing vaccination(over 37% of the state).  Brown County has 14,973 receiving at least one shot & 10,288 completing vaccination.
