SD Dept of Health reported 3 COVID-19 related death, at least 200,000 received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths(including 1 in Brown County), while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,915. The state had 176 new cases and 209 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,107. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 68.

So far, South Dakota has had 114,966 cases and 110,944 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 12 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 73 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,212 confirmed cases and 5,050 recoveries. There’s currently 90 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,757 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,092, and Lincoln County with 7,972. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,112, Brookings with 3,672, Davison with 3,011, Yankton with 2,847, and Lawrence with 2,842.

Statewide 201,813 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 35% of the state) with 117,212 completing vaccination(over 20% of the state).  Brown County has 9,507 receiving at least one shot & 5,819 completing vaccination.
