SD Dept of Health reported 3 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,938. The state had 231 new cases and 162 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,487. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 98.

So far, South Dakota has had 117,989 cases and 113,564 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 85 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,314 cases and 5,138 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,829 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,253, and Lincoln County with 8,247. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,219, Brookings with 3,850, Davison with 3,122, Yankton with 2,937, and Lawrence with 2,892.

Statewide 257,886 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 43% of the state) with 170,684 completing vaccination(over 29% of the state).  Brown County has 12,150 receiving at least one shot & 8,078 completing vaccination.
