SD Dept of Health reported 3 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,952. The state had 257 new cases and 367 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,201. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 116.

So far, South Dakota has had 120,856 cases and 116,703 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 85 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,426 cases and 5,250 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,798 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,439, and Lincoln County with 8,475. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,471, Brookings with 4,079, Davison with 3,170, Yankton with 3,011, and Lawrence with 2,924.

Statewide 311,853 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 52% of the state) with 226,228 completing vaccination(under 38% of the state).  Brown County has 15,370 receiving at least one shot & 10,420 completing vaccination.
