SD Dept of Health reported 3 COVID-19 related deaths over the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – This weekend the state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations remained the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,912. The state had 156 new cases and 196 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,106. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 64.

So far, South Dakota has had 114,649 cases and 110,631 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 7 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 72 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,207 confirmed cases and 5,046 recoveries. There’s currently 89 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,662 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,072, and Lincoln County with 7,944. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,093, Brookings with 3,663, Davison with 3,000, Lawrence with 2,840 and Yankton with 2,840.

Statewide 197,651 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 34% of the state) with 112,744 completing vaccination(over 19% of the state).  Brown County has 9,452 receiving at least one shot & 5,389 completing vaccination.
