SD Dept of Health reported 3 COVID-19 related deaths over the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths over the weekend, while active cases & hospitalizations declined, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,901. The state had 222 new cases and 257 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,067. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 67.

So far, South Dakota has had 113,596 cases and 109,628 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 8 recoveries. The county currently has 75 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,175 confirmed cases and 5,011 recoveries. There’s currently 89 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,332 cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,992, and Lincoln County with 7,856. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,030, Brookings with 3,623, Davison with 2,972, Lawrence with 2,834 and Yankton with 2,818.

Statewide 169,877 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 30% of the state) with 92,504 completing vaccination(under 20% of the state).  Brown County has 7,522 receiving at least one shot & 4,758 completing vaccination.
