SD Dept of Health reported 3 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,927. The state had 254 new cases and 173 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,428. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 74.

So far, South Dakota has had 116,624 cases and 112,269 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 59 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,258 cases and 5,108 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,317 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,209, and Lincoln County with 8,130. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,174, Brookings with 3,750, Davison with 3,059, Yankton with 2,888, and Lawrence with 2,881.

Statewide 228,659 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 39% of the state) with 144,149 completing vaccination(under 25% of the state).  Brown County has 10,715 receiving at least one shot & 6,513 completing vaccination.
