SD Dept of Health reported 4 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths(including 1 in Brown County), while active cases & hospitalizations decrease, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,863. The state had 140 new confirmed cases and 166 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,966. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 90.

So far, South Dakota has had 111,304 confirmed cases and 107,475 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 9 recoveries. The county currently has 65 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,085 confirmed cases and 4,935 recoveries. There’s currently 85 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,740 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,746, and Lincoln County with 7,668. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,927, Brookings with 3,564, Davison with 2,938, Lawrence with 2,804 and Yankton with 2,789.

Statewide 122,625 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 18% of the state) with 62,216 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination(over 9% of the state).  Brown County has 5,720 receiving at least one shot & 2,996 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
