SD Dept of Health reported 4 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 4 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,919. The state had 239 new cases and 176 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,164. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 65.

So far, South Dakota has had 115,203 cases and 111,120 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 2 recoveries. The county currently has 80 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,229 confirmed cases and 5,059 recoveries. There’s currently 90 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,835 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,108, and Lincoln County with 7,994. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,118, Brookings with 3,689, Davison with 3,013, Yankton with 2,850, and Lawrence with 2,843.

Statewide 204,793 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 35% of the state) with 120,681 completing vaccination(over 21% of the state).  Brown County has 9,538 receiving at least one shot & 5,873 completing vaccination.
