SD Dept of Health reported 6 COVID-19 related Deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations both went down, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,853. The state had 147 new confirmed cases and 181 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,028. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus decrease to 91.

So far, South Dakota has had 111,018 confirmed cases and 107,153 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 8 recoveries. The county currently has 78 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,080 confirmed cases and 4,918 recoveries. There’s currently 84 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,669 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,709, and Lincoln County with 7,649. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,918, Brookings with 3,552, Davison with 2,934, Lawrence with 2,799 and Yankton with 2,783.

Statewide 116,143 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 17% of the state) with 56,761 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination.  Brown County has 5,534 receiving at least one shot & 2,682 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
