SD Dept of Health reported 7 new COVID-19 deaths, complete vaccinations over 200,000

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,946. The state had 260 new cases and 282 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,465. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 97.

So far, South Dakota has had 119,457 cases and 115,056 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 12 recoveries. The county currently has 93 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,376 cases and 5,192 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,370 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,357, and Lincoln County with 8,388. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,274, Brookings with 3,958, Davison with 3,150, Yankton with 2,975, and Lawrence with 2,915.

Statewide 292,561 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 49% of the state) with 201,888 completing vaccination(under 34% of the state).  Brown County has 14,312 receiving at least one shot & 9,293 completing vaccination.
