SD Dept of Health reported in 7 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 7 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,886. The state had 187 new cases and 213 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,910. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 91.

So far, South Dakota has had 112,293 cases and 108,497 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 9 recoveries. The county currently has 61 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,126 confirmed cases and 4,977 recoveries. There’s currently 88 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,973 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,890, and Lincoln County with 7,736. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,984, Brookings with 3,581, Davison with 2,947, Lawrence with 2,821 and Yankton with 2,801.

Statewide 140,217 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 25% of the state) with 74,290 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination(under 13% of the state).  Brown County has 6,196 receiving at least one shot & 3,467 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
