SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,933. The state had 264 new cases and 178 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,522. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 91.

So far, South Dakota has had 117,759 cases and 113,302 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 14 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 81 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,304 cases and 5,132 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,738 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,246, and Lincoln County with 8,228. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,209, Brookings with 3,837, Davison with 3,115, Yankton with 2,929, and Lawrence with 2,887.

Statewide 252,751 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 43% of the state) with 165,940 completing vaccination(over 27% of the state).  Brown County has 11,960 receiving at least one shot & 7,733 completing vaccination.
