SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,938. The state had 197 new cases and 267 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,417. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 103.

So far, South Dakota has had 118,186 cases and 113,831 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 86 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,322 cases and 5,145 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,905 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,267, and Lincoln County with 8,262. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,211, Brookings with 3,862, Davison with 3,124, Yankton with 2,939, and Lawrence with 2,895.

Statewide 264,826 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 45% of the state) with 176,945 completing vaccination(over 29% of the state).  Brown County has 12,836 receiving at least one shot & 8,446 completing vaccination.
