SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 deaths for the 2nd straight day

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations stayed the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,888. The state had 182 new cases and 125 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,975. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 92.

So far, South Dakota has had 112,652 cases and 108,789 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 70 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,142 confirmed cases and 4,984 recoveries. There’s currently 88 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,079 cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,918, and Lincoln County with 7,768. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,001, Brookings with 3,592, Davison with 2,955, Lawrence with 2,828 and Yankton with 2,803.

Statewide 146,858 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 26% of the state) with 77,785 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination(over 13% of the state).  Brown County has 6,320 receiving at least one shot & 3,475 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
