SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 Deaths for the 3rd day in a row

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths for the 3rd straight day, while active cases & hospitalizations both went down, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death remains at 1,844. The state had 95 new confirmed cases and 224 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,072. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus decrease to 94.

So far, South Dakota has had 110,685 confirmed cases and 106,769 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and 13 recoveries. The county currently has 95 active cases(1st time below 100 since Aug 26th). Overall, the county has had 5,071 confirmed cases and 4,893 recoveries. There’s currently 83 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,600 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,669, and Lincoln County with 7,617. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,897, Brookings with 3,542, Davison with 2,927, Lawrence with 2,793 and Yankton with 2,777.

Statewide 107,340 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 15% of the state) with 51,165 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination.  Brown County has 5,268 receiving at least one shot & 2,533 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
