SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 deaths for the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,938. The state had 156 new cases and 114 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,485. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 88.

So far, South Dakota has had 118,517 cases and 114,094 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 6 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 92 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,337 cases and 5,154 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,025 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,279, and Lincoln County with 8,293. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,235, Brookings with 3,886, Davison with 3,128, Yankton with 2,951, and Lawrence with 2,900.

Statewide 275,483 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 46% of the state) with 186,072 completing vaccination(over 31% of the state).  Brown County has 12,931 receiving at least one shot & 9,198 completing vaccination.
