SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 deaths for the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,933. The state had 255 new cases and 305 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,393. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 91.

So far, South Dakota has had 117,336 cases and 113,010 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 69 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,286 cases and 5,126 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 29,582 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,237, and Lincoln County with 8,196. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,200, Brookings with 3,803, Davison with 3,091, Yankton with 2,910, and Lawrence with 2,886.

Statewide 248,063 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 42% of the state) with 162,028 completing vaccination(over 27% of the state).  Brown County has 11,899 receiving at least one shot & 7,372 completing vaccination.
