SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,888. The state had 43 new cases and 58 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,918. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 92.

So far, South Dakota has had 112,470 cases and 108,664 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 2 recoveries. The county currently has 64 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,132 confirmed cases and 4,980 recoveries. There’s currently 88 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,018 cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,908, and Lincoln County with 7,754. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,989, Brookings with 3,588, Davison with 2,955, Lawrence with 2,825 and Yankton with 2,802.

Statewide 146,264 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 25% of the state) with 77,534 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination(over 13% of the state).  Brown County has 6,274 receiving at least one shot & 3,475 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
