SD Dept of Health reported no new death due to COVID-19 today

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases up slightly, hospitalizations down slightly, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death remains at 1,844. The state had 61 new confirmed cases and 42 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,092. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus decrease to 86.

So far, South Dakota has had 110,376 confirmed cases and 106,440 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 112 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,066 confirmed cases and 4,871 recoveries. There’s currently 83 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,518 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,629, and Lincoln County with 7,590. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,878, Brookings with 3,535, Davison with 2,924, Lawrence with 2,790 and Yankton with 2,774.

Statewide 104,661 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 15% of the state) with 49,887 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination.  Brown County has 4,969 receiving at least one shot & 2,448 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
