SD Dept of Health reported no new deaths due to COVID-19

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases and hospitalizations dropped slightly, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death toll now at 1,809. The state had 54 new confirmed cases and 62 recoveries, lowering active infections 2,308. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus decrease to 112.

So far, South Dakota has had 109,283 confirmed cases and 105,166 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and 1 recovery. The county currently has 160 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,017 confirmed cases and 4,778 recoveries. There remains 79 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,264 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,501, and Lincoln County with 7,527. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,795, Brookings with 3,478, Davison with 2,913, Lawrence with 2,766, and Yankton with 2,759.

Statewide 86,304 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine with 39,017 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination.  Brown County has 3,659 receiving at least one shot & 1,888 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
