SD Dept of Health reports 1 COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases  & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,957. The state had 199 new cases and 196 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,955. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 116.

So far, South Dakota has had 121,850 cases and 117,938 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 10 recoveries. The county currently has 73 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,459 cases and 5,295 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,107 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,528, and Lincoln County with 8,554. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,525, Brookings with 4,140, Davison with 3,201, Yankton with 3,042, and Lawrence with 2,941.

Statewide 322,189 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 53% of the state) with 251,403 completing vaccination(over 41% of the state).  Brown County has 15,662 receiving at least one shot & 12,295 completing vaccination
