SD Dept of Health reports 1 COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases  & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,958. The state had 137 new cases and 219 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,871. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 104.

So far, South Dakota has had 121,986 cases and 118,157 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and 13 recoveries. The county currently has 64 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,463 cases and 5,308 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,139 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,545, and Lincoln County with 8,575. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,531, Brookings with 4,149, Davison with 3,204, Yankton with 3,048, and Lawrence with 2,941.

Statewide 323,716 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 53% of the state) with 257,170 completing vaccination(over 42% of the state).  Brown County has 15,735 receiving at least one shot & 12,580 completing vaccination
