SD Dept of Health reports 1 COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,977. The state had 84 new cases and 159 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,309. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 90.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,157 cases and 119,871 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 80 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,547 cases and 5,376 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,490 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,675, and Lincoln County with 8,649. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,620, Brookings with 4,203, Davison with 3,226, Yankton with 3,078, and Lawrence with 2,970.

Statewide 332,582 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 293,433 completing vaccination(over 48% of the state).  Brown County has 16,021 receiving at least one shot & 14,271 completing vaccination.
