SD Dept of Health reports 1 COVID-19 related death for the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death on the weekend, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health(through Monday). The death total currently at 1,994. The state had 99 new cases and 213 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 712. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 60.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,784 cases and 121,078 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 13 recoveries. The county currently has 51 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,591 cases and 5,448 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,637 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,775, and Lincoln County with 8,694, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,644, Brookings with 4,217, Davison with 3,236, Yankton with 3,097, and Lawrence with 2,991.

Statewide 340,817 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 312,492 completing vaccination(over 51% of the state).  Brown County has 16,463 receiving at least one shot & 15,281 completing vaccination.
