SD Dept of Health reports 1 COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,953. The state had 200 new cases and 190 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,210. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 96.

So far, South Dakota has had 121,056 cases and 116,893 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 8 recoveries. The county currently has 80 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,429 cases and 5,258 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,865 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,454, and Lincoln County with 8,494. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,476, Brookings with 4,092, Davison with 3,176, Yankton with 3,020, and Lawrence with 2,925.

Statewide 314,649 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 52% of the state) with 229,654 completing vaccination(over 38% of the state).  Brown County has 15,376 receiving at least one shot & 10,621 completing vaccination.
