SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases  & hospitalizations increased through Tuesday, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,041. The state had 200 new cases(last week 113) and 115 recoveries(last week 78), increasing active infections to 290(last week 208). Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 38(last week 20).

So far, South Dakota has had 124,948 cases and 122,617 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new case and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 6 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,650 cases and 5,549 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,851 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,041, and Lincoln County with 8,736, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,658, Brookings with 4,248, Davison with 3,258, Yankton with 3,113, and Lawrence with 3,035.

Statewide 374,889 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 58% of the state) with 352,802 completing vaccination(over 53% of the state). Brown County has 17,881 receiving at least one shot & 17,097 completing vaccination.

The South Dakota Department of Health will update the figures on a weekly basis.  Next update will be Wednesday, July 28th.
