SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,052. The state had 139 new cases and 78 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,270. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 76.

So far, South Dakota has had 126,746 cases and 123,424 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 33 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,694 cases and 5,566 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,372 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,373, and Lincoln County with 8,851, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,712, Brookings with 4,327, Davison with 3,281, Yankton with 3,129, and Lawrence with 3,092.

Statewide 391,326 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 60% of the state) with 362,497 completing vaccination(under 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,640 receiving at least one shot & 17,512 completing vaccination.
