SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health through Friday. The death total currently at 2,053. The state had 182 new cases and 93 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,355. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 73.

So far, South Dakota has had 126,928 cases and 123,517 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 4 new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 37 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,698 cases and 5,566 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,414 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,413, and Lincoln County with 8,860, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,717, Brookings with 4,333, Davison with 3,284, Yankton with 3,131, and Lawrence with 3,098.

Statewide 393,896 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 60% of the state) with 364,700 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,692 receiving at least one shot & 17,546 completing vaccination.
