SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,056. The state had 376 new cases and 75 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,939. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 105.

So far, South Dakota has had 127,696 cases and 123,701 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 43 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,708 cases and 5,570 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,553 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,598, and Lincoln County with 8,903, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,734, Brookings with 4,356, Davison with 3,291, Yankton with 3,164, and Lawrence with 3,140.

Statewide 394,440 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 60% of the state) with 364,822 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,755 receiving at least one shot & 17,600 completing vaccination.
