SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,057. The state had 295 new cases and 102 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,132. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 125.

So far, South Dakota has had 127,991 cases and 123,803 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 41 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,710 cases and 5,574 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,597 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,671, and Lincoln County with 8,918, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,738, Brookings with 4,366, Davison with 3,293, Lawrence with 3,179, and Yankton with 3,179.

Statewide 396,952 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 61% of the state) with 366,765 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,782 receiving at least one shot & 17,616 completing vaccination.
