SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,060. The state had 471 new cases and 231 recoveries, increasing active infections to 3,655. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 156.

So far, South Dakota has had 130,317 cases and 124,622 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 13 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 56 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,754 cases and 5,603 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,977 cases, followed by Pennington County with 15,273, and Lincoln County with 9,024, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,777, Brookings with 4,437, Lawrence with 3,335, Davison with 3,321, and Meade with 3,249.

Statewide 400,958 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 61% of the state) with 370,264 completing vaccination(under 56% of the state). Brown County has 18,950 receiving at least one shot & 17,836 completing vaccination.
