SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,093. The state had 568 new cases and 466 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,364. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 204.

So far, South Dakota has had 138,860 cases and 129,403 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 28 new cases and 9 recoveries. The county currently has 265 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,053 cases and 5,693 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,380 cases, followed by Pennington County with 17,651 and Lincoln County with 9,429, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,986, Brookings with 4,708, Meade with 3,860, Lawrence with 3,825, and Davison with 3,502.

Statewide 413,905 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 63% of the state) with 381,438 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Brown County has 19,581 receiving at least one shot & 18,401 completing vaccination.
