SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases  & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,954. The state had 158 new cases and 189 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,043. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 115.

So far, South Dakota has had 121,517 cases and 117,520 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 76 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,445 cases and 5,278 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,008 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,495, and Lincoln County with 8,534. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,502, Brookings with 4,126, Davison with 3,194, Yankton with 3,032, and Lawrence with 2,933.

Statewide 319,580 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 53% of the state) with 240,2622 completing vaccination(over 40% of the state).  Brown County has 15,449 receiving at least one shot & 11,442 completing vaccination.
