SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,109. The state had 604 new cases and 525 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,714. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 226.

So far, South Dakota has had 141,745 cases and 131,922 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 17 new cases and 15 recoveries. The county currently has 288 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,165 cases and 5,782 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 34,955 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,337 and Lincoln County with 9,576, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,073, Brookings with 4,838, Meade with 3,994, Lawrence with 3,937, and Davison with 3,542.

Statewide 417,502 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 63% of the state) with 385,758 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,730 receiving at least one shot & 18,600 completing vaccination.
